The Network for Games, better known as GSN, is surprising the audience by presenting the third edition of a world famous blackjack tournament and the only blackjack program on television, the 2006 World Series of Blackjack. Players were able to qualify for this prestigious blackjack tournament by winning one of the forty seats available in exclusive nationally televised tournaments.

The Game Show Network, better known as GSN or 'The Network for Games', is an American cable television and direct broadcast satellite channel focused on game shows and interactive television games. The channel was launched on December 1, 1994. GSN is received by about 58 million homes, and is jointly owned by Liberty Media and Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Thanks to the new qualification structure of this year's blackjack tournament, every player has a chance to participate. Many top casinos in the United States are sending their best blackjack players to Las Vegas in February. In the first two seasons of this blackjack tournament, entry was on invitation only, and only the best pros were able to get one of these invitations. This year, the tournament is open for everyone. Yesterday, the President and Chief Executive Officer of GSN, Rich Cronin, announced that the beautiful and historical Hilton in Las Vegas is going to be the location of a 13-episode series of this blackjack tournament, which will be produced by John Watkin and Eamon Harrington of by Planet Grande Pictures. In addition to World Series of Blackjack, Planet Grande is producing the series "Small Town Secrets" about the lower side of the center of America as well as their first movie for television called "Arbor Springs." Cronin stated that he was extremely enthusiastic about broadcasting this blackjack tournament on television and about bringing the best blackjack players together.

The Hilton is famous for its exciting championship tournaments and is the home of superstar Barry Manilow and recently signed Reba McEntire. The Hilton recently completed a multi-million dollar construction and renovation enhancement project that includes a stunning new lobby and casino. As the home of the blackjack tournament, the Las Vegas Hilton will also send their top players to compete in the tournament.
